ANCHORAGE - A prominent former Alaska lobbyist will spend five months in prison, followed by five months of home confinement for a federal bribery conviction in a political corruption case.

Bill Bobrick, 52, was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Anchorage for a single count of conspiracy.

The other defendant in the case, former state Rep. Tom Anderson, received five years.

Anderson will report to a federal prison south of Portland, Ore., on Monday.

Anderson, 40, a two-term Republican from Anchorage who chose not to run for re-election in 2006, was convicted in July of taking nearly $24,000.

Bobrick told the judge he regretted his actions, and said he will "spend the rest of my life trying to regain the trust of my community."

Bobrick pleaded guilty in May to conspiring with Anderson to push the interests of a private prison firm in exchange for money. He became one of the main government witnesses against Anderson at his trial.
